As I was studying the English Studies, I realized that there was a huge void, regarding giving its place and merit to a nation in capital letters; Scotland. This is so because, the English studies syllabus, doesnt include a single subject that teaches the History and culture of Scotland. The idea of ending the English Studies degree, owning the same level of knowledge about Scotland, as a person who had never received an education in this field, represented a huge nonsense and a mistake in my mind.It is educational entities and governments duty to face and upgrade the syllabuses taught at universities, by acknowledging, making amends and assuming responsabilities. In this study I outline how it can be done, giving a new shape to this cultural vacuum, by walking hand in hand with historical progress. It is also thanks to the current situation regarding Brexit and the results suggested by the polling of the upcoming 2020 Referendum, that my project has acquired more weigh and meaning.
